A 4 star hotel in a house built on the site of an orphanage church in which Antonio Vivaldi composed and played his music, between 1703 and 1740. In the late 1800 it became "Pension Kirsch" and among the lodgers in the year 1895 was Sigmound Freud (Father of the Psychoanalysis). The hotel position is superb and the view the hotel commands over the city stupendous. Overlooking the lagoon where it meets the Grand Canal and just 3 minuts walk from St.Mark's Square. The Metropole with its richly suggestive atmosphere has including suites, junior suites, 70 rooms all of them different in size and style; one of the room won the 1st prize at the 1925 Paris Exposition Internationale Des Arts decoratifs.
