Carignano is situated in a hilly and quiet area only 5 kilometers from Lucca. It is within easy reach of the sea and the mountains and is surrounded by magnificent historical villas.
Set in the breathtakingly beautiful hills of Lucca with its famous antique and historic villas and celebrated DOC wines, the countryside, just outside the city, is steeped in rural tradition. Fruit trees, vineyards and olive groves give the countryside of Lucca a taste of "old world" quite simply uncontaminated. From here trips and promenades can be arranged to suit those interested in sports, lovers of nature and of course the arts and the culture of Tuscany.
ROOMS
The hotel has 26 rooms. They all have private bathrooms, TV, telephone, air conditioning. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, personnel young and helpful. In our hotel there is an Internet Point open from 7.00 a.m. to 1.00 a.m.
VERANDA
The Cantina di Carignano was an old horse-lodge where the coaches stopped after a long journey on the dusty roads around Lucca.
RESTAURANT
Today, after four generations in the restaurant business, the old inn-keepers still cook the traditional dishes and they recommend not to miss the following: farro (spelt soup), home-made tordelli, still lovingly prepared by the eighty year old Signora Maria, lardo di Colonnata (delicious lard), local olives, fiorentina steak cooked in the wooden fireplace, torta con i becchi a sweet vegetable cake.
MEETING
We can provide the meeting rooms (included in the price) for a blackboard with sheets of paper and a overhead and a screen. Other equipment are an extra charge. On request coffee breaks and lunches.
HOW TO REACH US
From Pisa Airport
Following the direction to Viareggio (SS Via Aurelia) you will find the motorway A11 (entrance Pisa Nord) direction Lucca. Leave the motorway at Lucca exit. Head towards Viareggio, Via Sarzanese (SS 439). Go straight on, pass the motorway bridge and when you reach the traffic lights go straight on. At the third set of traffic lights, follow for - ss 439 - Viareggio going on the left, drive on for about 2,5 km. When you reach a bridge (Ponte S.Pietro), go straight down for 200 mt. and on your right you will find a Gas station "ERG" and the direction for Carignano. Carry on for 1,5 km. you will see the Hotel on your left.
From motorway "Firenze mare" A11
Following the direction for Lucca you will find the Lucca exit. After that follow the indications as above.
From motorway "Genova-Livorno" A12
Following the direction for Lucca you will find the Lucca Ovest exit. After that drive on your right follow "Lucca Centro" then you find the motorway bridge and at the first traffic light go straight on for Via Sarzanese SS 439 - Viareggio, at the third traffic light set go on the left and drive on for about 1,5 km. When you reach a bridge (Ponte S.Pietro), go straight down for 200 mt. and on your right you will find a Gas station "Erg" and the direction for Carignano. ù Carry on for 1,5 km. you will see the Hotel on your left.
