Situated in Mira at a key point on the route between the nearby cities of Padua and Venice, the Riviera dei Dogi Hotel overlooks the Brenta Riviera Canal, renowned for the richness of its artistic and architectural treasures, and for the famous palladian villas in the area.
HISTORY
From recently discovered historical records, it has been established that the hotel dates back to 1537.
Initially planned as a weekend retreat for Contarini aristocratic family, towards the middle of the seventeenth century it was used as an inn, and retained this function until the end of the nineteenth century.
It was during these years that the Hotel first began, initially under the name “Hotel Cima”. It was the first hotel on the Riviera del Brenta to offer a series of innovations which were to make it famous, even amongst the Venetian aristocracy, and it flourished until the end of the Second World War.
Following the war, after a long period of neglect, conservative, expert restoration brought the building back to its original splendour, making the "Riviera Dei Dogi" a hotel of unique style.
ROOMS
The "Riviera dei dogi" has 43 rooms, each with air conditioning, minibar, colour T.V, telephone with direct dialing and en-suite bathroom with shower.

HOW TO GET THERE BY BUS:
FROM SANTA LUCIA TRAIN STATION : cross the Degli Scalzi bridge(directly in front of the station)and continue walking straight for 2 minutes to Piazzale Roma. Buy a bus ticket to Mira and catch the bus marked Dolo or Padova. It leaves at 25 and 55 minutes past the hour in the stop Corsia C4, daily until midnight. It takes about 30 minutes to get to Mira Porte. Ask the driver to stop in front of the Ristorante Vecia Brenta. When you get off, follow it to the end of the block, where there is a stoplight. Turn left in Via Mocenigo and walk 50yards to the end of the block. Turn right and walk along the canal for 100 yards. The hotel is on your right.
FROM VENICE –MESTRE RAIL- STATION: take the subway under the train station to the direction Marghera cross the road and walk for 50 yards ask for Via Fratelli Bandiera. You’ll find the bus stop on your right. Another possibility is to exit from the station in Piazza Favretto and turn right Viale Stazione, turn to Via Cappuccina and then on the first street on your right you will find Rampa Cavalcavia, on the right you have the bus stop. Ask for the bus stop Mira Porte.

HOW TO GET THERE BY CAR
FROM MILANO-BOLOGNA: take the A4 Autostrada and exit Dolo-Mirano, then follow signs to Mira, taking the second right off roundabout after about a km you’ll come to a fork in the road: bear left. This road ends at a stop sign. Turn left here and after the first double set of traffic lights, when the main road veers left, continue straight along the canal
(there should be a hotel sign here).After about 1,5 km you’ll see the hotel on your left. The parking lot is just beyond the hotel.
FROM VENICE : cross the causeway blue signs for Ravenna and then Padova/Riviera del Brenta. If you come to any forks in the road with no Padova signs, follow indications for A4 Autostrada. Once you spot the Brenta Canal, about 15 minutes after you leave the causeway , look for a sign for the hotel, indicating a right turn. You will now drive along the canal about five minutes. The hotel is after a curve, on your right. The parking lot is right before it.
